PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Annabel Sutherland

That's all from this game folks. We'll be back on Jan 2nd (Tuesday) with the third and final ODI of this series. For now, it's a goodbye from our side!

Sutherland, Player of the Match: It was good fun. It was a team effort in the field. Just held our nerves as much as possible. We were able to hold on towards the end. Was trying to keep the stumps in play as much as possible. She (Healy) showed faith in me and I delivered. Try to read the game as much as possible. Experience comes playing franchise cricker and domestic cricket back home. Just try to trust my instincts. I thought it was tricky, it was slow and there was spin. Alana King was unbelievable with her striking towards the end. We needed that to get to that total. We went into the break with momentum on our side..

Alyssa Healy: It was a close game, all credit to our girls, we win games in tough situations. I think we were short. Lost too many wickets in the back end. The bowlers turned up for us once again. We hang in there, we fight till the last ball, that has made us so successful. Everyone's effort and energy was unbelievable. We have seen a lot changes in our team, the young players are learning. See you in 2024.

Harmanpreet: I think we bowled well today, we planned about picking wickets. Lots of positives from the game, but they took the game away from us in the end. We could have shown some more awareness. Ghosh played a good role, looking forward to the next game now. They have a very long batting line-up, so restricting them below 300 was a positive. I think that (dropped catches) is part of a game. We have been playing in the heat and playing a lot of cricket, so we need to bounce back, that's important.

Phoebe Litchfield: It was a challenging pitch, you saw me struggling. 250 was a par total. She (Perry) is an amazing player, takes the pressure off me, hopefully we'll have more partnerships. It was easier at the top as compared to facing the spinners. Ash's first over, she didn't get much spin, but it started spinning later. We had to take our chances, needed to bowl in good areas and put the pressure back on them. Our bowlers held their nerves towards the end.

21:17 Local Time, 15:47 GMT, 21:17 IST: Wasn't a match worth watching as a spectator looking at the fielding and catching from both the teams, but Australia will take the win and clinch the series. Chasing a challenging total, Bhatia departed early, while Mandhana couldn't capitalize on the start she had gotten off to. Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodrigues then had a solid partnership for the third wicket, however, Jemimah departed in the 34th over. Ghosh was struggling with cramps, but she kept playing her shots, kept getting regular boundaries, but unfortunately missed out on a well deserved century by 4 runs. Deepti Sharma couldn't get going as her strike rate was on the slower wide and chasing 16 in the final over was always going to be a stiff task. Stay around for the presentations..

49.6

Sutherland to Shreyanka Patil, FOUR, Australia win by 3 runs and go up 2-0 up in the series. A length delivery to end the match as Shreyanka Patil reverse slaps this past short third man for a boundary. Won't make a difference as the visitors have come out on top..

49.5

Sutherland to Deepti Sharma, 1 run, Australia inch closer to victory. Just a single. Was a length ball and Deepti Sharma lofted it to long-on

49.4

Sutherland to Deepti Sharma, no run, dot ball. A yorker length ball that Deepti Sharma digs it back to the bowler

49.4

Sutherland to Deepti Sharma, wide, slower one attempted, but well outside the tramline. 250 up for India Women

49.3

Sutherland to Shreyanka Patil, 1 run, dropped by McGrath at mid-off and Deepti is back on strike. Shreyanka Patil gets a leading edge and the fielder puts down an easy chance

49.2

Sutherland to Deepti Sharma, 1 run, slower delivery on off, Deepti Sharma swings early, gets an inside edge towards square leg

49.1

Sutherland to Deepti Sharma, FOUR, superb shot. Makes room and drills this overpitched delivery through the gap at wide mid-off for a much needed boundary

Shreyanka Patil, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Equation: India Women require 16 runs in 6 balls..

48.6

Gardner to Harleen Deol, out Bowled!! Australia on top as India lose another wicket. Harleen Deol was down the wicket to play this, but Gardner goes straight and quick. Harleen Deol gets beaten all ends up and the stumps have been rattled. Harleen Deol b Gardner 1(4)

Gardner to Harleen Deol, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!

48.5

Gardner to Deepti Sharma, 1 run, touch short outside off, Deepti Sharma slices it to short third man for a single

48.4

Gardner to Deepti Sharma, no run, short and wide outside off, slapped to cover by Deepti Sharma. Pressure of dot balls building..

48.3
