NZ won the rain-truncated first ODI a few days back and they have come up with an even better effort today. As a result of this win, they take the series 2-0 and their next target will be to make the scoreline 3-0. Will Bangladesh manage to avoid the series whitewash? Join us on Saturday (23rd December) for the third ODI to find that out. For now, it's a goodbye from our side..

Sarkar, Player of the Match: I took time in the first few overs. Happy with the hundred, but unfortunately we lost. Would have been special had we won. Had good partnerships with Rahim and Miraz but they got out at the wrong time. Could have had a bigger total if they wouldn't have got out. I watch the ball and play according to its merit. The pull shot over mid-wicket is my favourite shot.

18:26 Local Time, 05:26 GMT, 10:56 IST: A comfortable victory for New Zealand as they take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the 3-match ODI series. They started off on a positive note earlier in the day by reducing Bangladesh to 44/3 within the first 10 overs. Sarkar had a couple of useful partnerships - with Rahim and Mehidy, and once the duo departed, he took control of things. The left-handed batsman notched up his third ODI century and helped Bangladesh post a competitive total of 291. In reply, the New Zealand top-order batters looked at complete ease during the the run chase as the pitch was a sublime one. Ravindra and Young got the hosts off to a fantastic start and once Ravindra was dismissed, Nicholls and Young took control of things. Both of them had a chance to score centuries, but unfortunately both of them missed out. In the end, it was due to the clinical performances by their top three batters that New Zealand managed to get home by 7 wickets..
