TNCA, KSCA seek clarification on 'conflict of interest'

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) are planning to raise a few queries on conflict of interest' in the working committee meeting of the BCCI in Kolkata on Friday. The Board in July, had asked representatives of every state association and members of various committees and subcommittees of the BCCI to sign a declaration stating they have no conflict of interest.

KS Viswanathan, secretary of TNCA, is also the director of Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited (CSKCL), while KSCA secretary Brijesh Patel is also the head of operations of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). While Patel is the director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Viswanathan is part of the NCA sub-committee. Both the associations will ask the BCCI to "define conflict of interest".

"The fact that notice would be sent out to the state associations on conflict of interest was never discussed in any working committee meeting and that there's no clear definition on what conflict of interest exactly means, we will raise both the issues in the working committee meeting," a source close to the developments told TOI.

BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur had said that players wouldn't be asked to sign an undertaking on the conflict of interest for now and the two state associations would seek clarification on the issue.
