That's all from the opening game of BBL13. Brisbane Heat have made a strong start to the season while Melbourne Stars look the same as last year. Tomorrow the league moves to Sydney where the Sixers will host Melbourne Renegades. Join us for that game. Until next time, goodbye and stay safe..

Colin Munro | Player of the Match: Me and Maxi have a bet going - if one of us get a 50, we go to KFC. So it is his treat today. Nice to have the two Aussie boys back (Marnus and Khawaja), they can hopefully go on and enjoy their Test cricket when the season starts. One of those days where everything I tried came off, I tried targeting the short boundary today.

21:18 Local Time, 11:18 GMT, 16:48 IST: The game was almost sealed in the first over when Neser sent back both the openers. Maxwell and Stoinis had a lot to do and the duo could not handle the asking rate. The former played a cameo of 20-odd before perishing to Swepson while the latter fell cheaply. Cartwright was the only batter to cross the 30-mark for the Melbourne Stars. Brisbane Heat got everything spot on apart from the toss. Munro set the tone with the bat and Neser did the same with the ball. All the bowlers chipped in in what turned out to be a massive win. The Stars finished bottom last season and this was not the result they would have wanted in their opening game.

15.1

Swepson to Olly Stone, out Bowled!! Brisbane Heat win by 103 runs. Swepson picks up his third and brings the game to an end. Stone wasn't going to back down with a spinner on, he sees a flighted delivery and immediately goes for the sweep, misses it completely and the ball crashes into middle-stump. Olly Stone b Swepson 2(3)

Swepson to Olly Stone, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!

Mitchell Swepson [3.0-0-23-2] is back into the attack

FYI, Coulter-Nile has come out to bat with a runner. He injured himself while bowling and is not able to move freely

14.5

Bartlett to Coulter-Nile, 1 run, short of length at the body, Coulter-Nile pulls to fine leg

Nathan Coulter-Nile, right handed bat, comes to the crease

14.4

Bartlett to Joel Paris, out Caught by Walter!! The Stars are falling apart. Second in the over for Bartlett and Paris is the latest to depart. Once again the slower ball does the trick, Paris does not have the pace to work with and is not able to generate enough power to clear deep square leg, Walter runs in and takes a low catch. Joel Paris c Walter b Bartlett 5(6)

Bartlett to Joel Paris, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

14.3

Bartlett to Joel Paris, no run, off-pace delivery close to off, Paris swings across the line and doesn't connect

Olly Stone, right handed bat, comes to the crease

14.1

Bartlett to Usama Mir, out Caught by Swepson!! Easy peasy! It has been all too easy for Brisbane Heat. Bartlett comes back for a second spell and has his name in the wickets column. Mir premeditated the scoop and that made Bartlett bowl the slower back of the hand delivery, no pace to work with and Mir lobs it tamely towards short fine, Swepson moves back a couple of steps and takes a simple catch. Usama Mir c Swepson b Bartlett 9(11)

Bartlett to Usama Mir, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Xavier Bartlett [2.0-0-5-0] is back into the attack

13.6

Kuhnemann to Usama Mir, 1 run, makes room and is met by a shortened length, chips it wide of Kuhnemann and down to long-off

13.5

Kuhnemann to Usama Mir, 2 runs, floated up outside off, Mir lofts over extra cover and the ball lands safely, wide of Marnus and the batters pick up a brace
