Many cricket legends and stars who have played in the earlier editions of the KFC BBL were present during the event of the official launch of the yearly tournament. The BBL will launch on December 20, 2016 and will end on January 28, 2017.

Total 8 teams will be competing in this year edition of the KFC Big Bash League (BBL) 2016. Here are the names of the teams that are participating in the BBL which starts on December 20, 2016.

3- Hobart Hurricanes
4- Melbourne Renegades
5- Melbourne Star
6- Perth Scorchers

The sixth edition of the BBL will feature 35 games in 40 days. There will be no matches played on Christmas Eve or even on Christmas Day, this was declared at the time of the launch event of the KFC BBL 2016.
