9-0 to India

India maintain their perfect record in the World Cup. They have absolutely bossed this tournament swatting aside every team they have faced. If they manage to remain unbeaten two more times over the next one week, they will be crowned world champions. And to be honest, it will be a massive surprise if they don't manage to get over the line this time the way they have played.

India win by 160 runs

Teja has batted very well tonight smashing a few sixes. He hits one more six off Rohit Sharma this time to bring up a fifty. But he gets out immediately as Netherlands get bowled out for 250. Terrific win once again for India.

Update- Netherlands 227/8 after 45 overs

Got to give it to the Dutch. Most teams struggled to bat out 50 overs against this bowling attack but the men in orange might just be able to do that tonight.

Siraj strikes

He is back on the field and is picking wickets as well. He came around the wicket to Engelbrecht and strikes by finding the gap between bat and pad. Netherlands lose number six and this should be over shortly.

What a yorker!!

Even the world's top batters would have struggled to keep that out. Bas de Leede has been cleaned up with an inch perfect yorker from Bumrah. Netherlands have lost half the side.

Stat -The last time Virat Kohli took an international wicket was against West Indies in the 2016 T20 WC.

A wicket for Virat :D

Rare sight indeed. With Siraj off the field, Rohit brings on Virat to make up for the pacer's absence and he strikes in his second over with a nothing delivery bowled down leg that takes the edge. Netherlands are four down.

Spinners strike

This was always going to be a challenge for Netherlands in case they get through the Indian pace attack. Both Kuldeep and Jadeja strike once each and Netherlands are suddenly 75/3. The top order is gone now.

Update - Netherlands 62/1

Got to say that's a bright start for the Dutch despite that early wicket. Colin Ackermann has been on a boundary-hitting spree and has found the fence six times already. Will be interesting to see how they fare against Kuldeep though.

India have their early wicket

Is anyone really surprised? Siraj takes three balls to strike as he bowls from wide of the crease and moves the ball away to take Barresi's outside edge. Wicket-maiden for the bowler.

India finish with 410

Shreyas Iyer hammered three sixes and a four in the penultimate over and Rahul smashed a couple of sixes in the final one. India hit 73 in the last five overs and their stunning double century partnership has guided India to 410/4. Just three runs short of India's 413 vs Bermuda in 2007.

Fastest ODI 100 for an Indian in World Cups

Take a bow, KL Rahul. What an assault this has been. He hit two successive sixes to bring up a 62-ball century as India go past 400.

Stat -Shreyas Iyer's century is the first hundred by an Indian middle-order batter in World Cups since Suresh Raina's 110* runs against Zimbabwe at Auckland in the 2015 WC. And the first by India's No.4 in World Cups since Yuvraj Singh's 113 runs against West Indies at Chennai in the 2011 edition.

1st World Cup 100 for Shreyas Iyer

He made 82 and 77 in the last two games and now goes beyond and gets himself a century. Well played, Shreyas Iyer. It's been a very good innings and the hundred has come off just 84 balls.

KL joins the fun

For the first time in history, India's top five have all registered fifties in the same innings. KL Rahul has looked very good today and has added over 100 with Shreyas.

Can India get 400?

India are in a very good position here after 40 overs. They have a well-set KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer at the crease. SKY and Jadeja are in the dugout waiting for their turn. Can they get over 100 runs in the final 10 overs?

Iyer gets 50

This is the first time all the top 4 batters scored 50+ in the same World Cup innings. Iyer has played well and let's see if he can at least make this count and get a big one.

Van der Merwe gets Kohli

What a huge wicket!! Kohli just brought up his seventh 50+ score of this World Cup and he has been dismissed immediately for 51. So India's top order have all gotten to fifties and just failed to convert it into a big one. Kohli missed this ball completely and it hit the top of offstump. India are still in a great position though at 200/3 with over 20 overs left in the innings.

50 for Rohit now

He has had a fabulous World Cup and he gets to a fifty again today. He has scored a double hundred here ten years ago!! Netherlands know how dangerous he can be once he is settled.

He is gone now

Fifty and out for Shubman Gill!! He is not getting a big one today. He pulled this short ball from Van Meekerenbut Teja Nidamanuru takes a superb catch near the boundary rope. Chinnaswamy erupts though as they welcome Virat Kohli out to the middle.

50 for Gill

It's been a fabulous start to his ODI career but his World Cup has been lukewarm owing to that dengue setback he had at the start. Ahead of the semifinal, he helps himself to a much-needed 50 and it has come off just 30 balls. It's been a very good innings so far from Shubman.

Openers bossing it

Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma bring up fifty inside the first six overs. India are off to a great start. Netherlands badly need a wicket here. Aryan Dutt has been hit for 30 runs in his first three overs.

Teams walk out for national anthems. We're all set for play to begin.

TOSS: India opt to bat

Both India and Netherlands are unchanged!

Toss coming in 5, don't go anywhere!

Here's Kaushik Rangarajan, our correspondent, from the stadium - "In a quirky twist, India are in the orange training kits while the Dutch are in the blue. India have had their huddle, broken away for fielding drills while the Dutch huddle has now been going on for a good 7-8 minutes. Lots of clapping, lots of talking."

World Cup head to head:

The two countries have only clashed twice previously in the World Cups, and India won on both occasions. Can Netherlands get lucky the third time? We'll find out soon enough.

Hello!

Happy Deepawali y'all!

We have the very last match of the round-robin stage of World Cup 2023, and it's hosts India taking on Netherlands.

There's little at stake for India. They've had the home advantage, a massive crowd support, are unbeaten in the tournament thus far and were the first to secure a seat in the semis. Rahul Dravid said the near one week break since their last game, against South Africa, was enough for rest to field a full strength team for the last league game. Even Ryan Cook knows India won't leave any stone un-turned to make it to the knockouts without dropping a game. But don't be surprised if there's still a change. Or two.

For Netherlands, there's qualification for Champions Trophy 2025 on stake. They'll have to bring out their A game to beat India for that, or they sink right to the bottom of the points table. Match preview here
