So that's all folks for today in the Big Bash League. The thrills, the spills and the big hits will continue tomorrow in the Sydney derby. Join us then, bye for now!!

Jake Fraser-McGurk | Player of the Match: We didn't want to risk him (Joe Clarke retiring hurt). Shaun Marsh knows how to chase - to have someone like that to stabilize the middle order is massive for us. There has always been a slight belief with me since the start of my career. It's (fortune) starting to turn a bit now, hopefully it keeps going, I do enjoy hitting sixes.

22:34 Local Time, 11:34 GMT, 17:04 IST: So the Gades are off the mark. And they have won comfortably today chasing 177 on a canter. Qdk was out first ball, but Joe Clarke and Jake Fraser-McGurk started on the aggressive. The former had to walk off with a hamstring issue, and was replaced by Shaun Marsh. This combination of youth and experience proved to be too good for the Strikers, as Fraser-McGurk started smoking sixes for fun. He hit them with power and entertained the home crowd, and was also lucky to be given two lives in terms of dropped catches. Marsh on the other end played a more reserved knock, choosing mainly only to attack the leggie Boyce. There was a bit of a stutter at the end as the Gades lost wickets in heaps, but the top-order had done enough damage to ensure they win with 8 balls to spare. Another loss on the road for the Adelaide Strikers.
