PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Paul Walter

The Renegades put out a good fight tonight but it wasn't quite enough to treat their home crowd to a win. The surface was slightly tricky and the Brisbane Heat batters just seemed to read the conditions and situation better. That's all we've got for you for now but don't go too far, there's always plenty of cricket around and we're here to bring it all to you. Goodbye for now.

Paul Walter | Player of the match: They’ve made me feel very welcome at Brisbane, probably bit hot for me but it’s very nice. Went in when Mujeeb was bowling his last over, plan was to accelerate. Been a good couple of weeks. Spend a lot of time here, amazing to play here and get a win. I just like getting around with the boys and spending time with the team. Spending christmas with my fiance’s family and then getting back up to Brisbane.

22:25 Local Time, 11:25 GMT, 16:55 IST: The Heat made it look fairly easy there in the end. Matt Renshaw finishes on 49* as he sees his side through to an impressive win. Tall Paul Walter deserves a mention too, he was fantastic with the ball before coming out and scoring a brisk 30* to kill the chase. On a tacky surface, the Renegades managed to get a 162 and their defence started off really nicely as they got three early wickets. They just needed one more wicket to break the Heat's back but Billings and Renshaw ensured that didn't happen. They shared a crucial partnership and even as Billings departed, Walter filled in nicely and scored his 30 quickly to ensure that the contest didn't drag on for too long. So the Heat scale to the top of the table with that win.

18.1

Tom Rogers to Renshaw, 1 run, that'll do it! Full and wide outside off, Renshaw sliced it away up and over point, was off the toe end but it doesn't matter, they get the run and they get the win

17.6

Zampa to Renshaw, 1 run, full on off-stump, pushed down the ground to long on, scores are level

17.5

Zampa to Renshaw, no run, full on middle, worked into the leg-side but straight to square leg

17.4

Zampa to Renshaw, 2 runs, very full on middle, squeezed away past short mid-wicket and down to the deep, they pick up two easily

17.3

Zampa to Walter, 1 run, length delivery on leg-stump, Walter backs away and knocks it towards mid-off for a quick single

Just 5 needed now

17.3

Zampa to Walter, wide, full and down leg, Walter looked to sweep and missed

17.2

Zampa to Walter, SIX, Walter wants to get this done early! Tossed up full on off-stump, Walter backed away to make a bit of room and just drove this up and over long-off through the line, all timing there!

Equation down to less than a run-a-ball now

K Richardson to Walter, FOUR, nicely played! Low full-toss on middle, Walter shuffled across his stumps and flicked it away right into the gap at backward square leg

Looks like they've lost the ball

16.3

K Richardson to Walter, no run, slower delivery angling away outside off, beats him with the change of pace as he was looking to slog it away
