Namibia have qualified for a T20 World Cup edition for the third time in a row as they became the first side to make it through from the African Qualifiers for the 2024 World Cup. A 58-run win over Tanzania on Tuesday (November 28) made it five wins in a row for tournament hosts Namibia who are the only unbeaten side in the tournament.

After posting a competitive total of 157 thanks to a collective batting effort, Namibia's bowlers then made short work of Tanzania's chase which never got going. In the end, it was only about batting out the allotted overs for Tanzania as Namibia got across the line with ease.

Apart from the Kenya game where the chase had a slight stutter, Namibia have had a cruise through these Qualifiers. Gerhard Erasmus's men made an impressive debut during the 2021 World Cup that was held in the UAE and while the 2022 edition in Australia was a dampener, Namibia will fancy their chances of putting on a better show in 2024 on pitches that should suit their style of play.

Uganda and Kenya, both on six points from four games thus far, are the teams who will be battling it out for the remaining slot. Zimbabwe, the only full-member team in this tournament, also have an outside chance of making the cut but find themselves in a hole of sorts with just four points from four games.
