Nepal and Oman have qualified for the men's T20 World Cup 2024, to be played in West Indies and USA. The two teams made it through the Asia Qualifiers being held in Nepal. In the semifinal of that tournament, Nepal beat UAE by eight wickets and Oman downed Bahrain by 10 to achieve the qualification. The two teams will now square off against each other in the final of the qualifier tournament.

With Friday's win, Nepal made a comeback to the men's T20 World Cup after a gap of nine years, having last played in the 2014 edition in Sri Lanka. Oman meanwhile, will be playing in their third T20 World Cup next year, after featuring in 2016 and 2021 - when they were the joint hosts.

The 2024 edition will have 20 teams, split into four groups of five each. From the first round of matches, two teams from each group will qualify to the Super Eights, where they will be split into two groups of four. The next stage of progression will be to the semis and final.

As hosts, West Indies and USA have got direct qualification to the tournament. The likes of Australia, India, England, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka made it through by finishing in the top eight in the the last edition of the tournament in Australia while Afghanistan and Bangladesh made the cut based on their T20 team ranking. For the remaining eight teams, qualification is through regional play. There are two spots each for Africa, Europe and Asia - now secured by Oman and Nepal, while Americas and East-Asia Pacific regions have one spot apiece.
