A New Zealand man has pleaded guilty to assaulting cricketer Jesse Ryder during an altercation outside a bar in the South Island city of Christchurch last month.

Jesse Ryder who has returned home after a stint at the hospital following the brutal assault on him, is set to return to cricket in the month of July.
