Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recalled ace off-spinner Saeed Ajmal in a bid to analyse his action in domestic cricket before submitting for the official review with the International Cricket Council(ICC). The board had, on Tuesday, submitted an action re-test request to ICC but have now withdrawn the request to conduct an internal review of their own.

The off-spinner had been working on re-modelling his action at the Loughborough University in England. He was suspended from bowling at the international level after a bio-mechanical analysis of his action, which was reported in a Test versus Sri Lanka in August.

His bowling action will now be subject to internal tests by experts in Pakistan after which the PCB will submit an official retest request with the ICC. According to reports, Ajmal will now represent the Pakistan 'A' side in the five-match 50-over series against Kenya starting December 13.

Under the ICC rules, a suspended bowler's re-modelled action will be compared with the action employed in the match in which he was reported. If the re-assessment concludes that the action is no longer illegal, his suspension shall be lifted and he shall be allowed to bowl at international level instantly. However, if the bowler is found again in breach of the legal limit inside two years of the first report, he risks a one-year ban.
