Sahara-BCCI stand-off

India's cricket chiefs thrashed out a compromise with the Sahara group on Thursday, paving the way for their long-time sponsor to remain on board.

The BCCI has said that the Sahara group could replace Yuvraj for IPL 5 and is expecting a positive response.

Lalit Modi has said that the IPL 2 auctions were rigged according to the convenience of Chennai Super Kings and that N.Srinivasan should be sacked for the smooth running of IPL.

Sahara chief Subrata Roy said that the Pune Warriors will participate in the fifth edition of IPL and will not be left out because of the rift with the BCCI.

The BCCI and Sahara have supposedly made headway in breaking the ice which caused the corporate giant to withdraw sponsorship of the Indian cricket team and from the IPL

Sponsors Sahara had earlier pulled the plug on BCCI on February 4 after the IPL governing council refused to meet some of its demands.

The BCCI took a more reconciliatory stand towards the aggrieved Sahara, saying it was ready to sit across the table and sort out all the matters.

Tim May said plenty of players expressed their concern to the FICA as many of them don't have a team to play for in the fifth edition of the IPL

Sahara chief Subrata Roy said Sahara and BCCI will look for an amicable solution so as to not be unfair to the players of his IPL franchise, Pune Warriors.
