Sri Lanka vs Oman

After two consecutive wins to start the tournament, Oman were blown out of the water on Friday as Sri Lanka hammered them by 10 wickets in Bulawayo. Put into bat, Oman got rolled over for just 98 as Wanindu Hasaranga helped himself to a five-for after Lahiru Kumara had taken three in his opening burst to leave the opposition reeling.

In response, Sri Lanka needed just their openers to chase the target down. Dimuth Karunaratne struck a fifty in quick time, and along with Pathum Nissanka, guided the team home with 35 overs to spare. The result took Sri Lanka to the top of Group B after two massive wins to start their campaign.

Brief scores: Oman 98 in 30.2 overs (Ayaan Khan 41; Hasaranga 5/13, Kumara 3/22) lost to Sri Lanka 100 for no loss in 15 overs (Karunaratne 61*) by 10 wickets

Scotland vs United Arab Emirates

Scotland registered a comprehensive 111-run win over UAE powered by a hundred from captain Richie Berrington. Walking in with the team in trouble at 11 for 2, which later became 48 for 4, Berrington batted right through the innings to score 127 off 136 balls before being run out off the final ball. His effort lifted Scotland to a total of 282 which proved more than enough as UAE were skittled out inside 36 overs.

Put into bat, Scotland struggled early on against UAE's seam attack as Junaid Siddique, Ali Naseer and Zahoor Khan made significant inroads. For the second time in two matches Scotland found themselves five-down for just over 100. But for the second consecutive time, there was a fightback. It was Michael Leask in the previous game, and Berrington today who led the turnaround. He put on 51 along with Chris Greaves for the sixth wicket, before being part of a game-changing partnership with Mark Watt. The two of them added 110 for the eighth wicket in the last 11 overs of the innings to complete a brilliant recovery.

In response, UAE struggled from the start and were never in the chase. They lost wickets at regular intervals with the highest partnership being worth a mere 36 runs. Chris Sole and Safyaan Sharif shared 7 wickets between them and it only took 35.2 overs to bundle UAE out as they went crashing out of the tournament with three straight defeats.

Brief scores: Scotland 282/8 in 50 overs (Richie Berrington 127(136), Mark Watt 44*(31); Junaid Siddique 3/49) beat UAE 171 all out in 35.2 overs (Muhammad Waseem 36(57); Safyaan Sharif 4/20, Chris Sole 3/37) by 111 runs
