Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) part-time, Surya Kumar Yadav was reported for a suspect action in the just-concluded Champions League T20 (CLT20). The off-spinner, who bowled three overs and gave away 21 runs in the final of CLT20 2014, was reported immediately after the game and became the second KKR player after Sunil Narine to be found with a faulty action.

"Kolkata Knight Riders player Suryakumar Yadav has been reported for a suspected illegal bowling action during the Oppo Champions League Twenty20 final against Chennai Super Kings at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and has been placed on the warning list. After all video evidence of the match was taken into account, on-field umpires Rod Tucker and Kumar Dharmasena along with third umpire S. Ravi felt that there was a flex action in his elbow beyond the acceptable limit when bowling during the match," stated a CLT20 media release.

"Under the CLT20 Suspected Illegal Bowling Action policy, Mr. Yadav may request an Official Assessment from the BCCI Suspect Bowling Action Committee. If a player receives a report while on the warning list, the player shall be suspended from bowling in any matches organised by the BCCI until such date as he is cleared," the release added.

Suryakumar was the fifth player to be reported in this edition's CLT20 for an illegal bowling action. Lahore Lions' Adnan Rasool, Sunfoil Dolphins' Prenelan Subrayen and KKR's Narine were the others reported.

The West Indian mystery spinner was the only one to be reported while on the warning list, which meant that he could not bowl in the final of the CLT20, which Kolkata lost.
