Brisbane Heat won by 20 runs
PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Mitchell Swepson

Mitchell Swepson | Player of the Match: When we came in today we thought it would be a 180-190 game but the wicket played slow. We do a lot of planning, he (Bancroft) has been in great form and a big wicket to get. We (himself and Kunhemann) are great mates, we love bowling at the Gabba and to come away from home and bowl well was fantastic, we are the spin twins. The first game gave us freedom, there wasn't too much talk, just players going out and expressing themselves.

22:33 Local Time, 11:33 GMT, 17:03 IST: Second win of the tournament and Brisbane sit pretty at the top of the table with 5 points. On a pitch that was slow and low, they have managed to defend 151 with utmost ease. On such a pitch, Thunder needed Hales to be their enforcer, but he fell for a first-ball duck, Bancroft made 25 and Davies made 35, but they were always behind the rate and it forced the later-order batters to take chances. Risk on this wicket was always loaded against them, but they looted 28 runs off the power surge to give themselves a chance. It didn't turn out that way though as Green and McAndrew were dismissed in consecutive overs, effectively ending the chase. A losing start at home for Thunder while Brisbane now enjoy a 9-day break. We'll be back with more Big Bash action with the Stars hosting the Scorchers tomorrow. Do join us for all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
