The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and its players met in Kingston on Sunday to resolve the payment issue, that forced West Indies to forfeit the India tour midway. The first round of talks were said to be cordial, positive and fruitful.

Players like Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Lendl Simmons, Jason Holder and Andre Russell were represented by Attorney Ralph Thorne QC, while the WICB was represented by president Dave Cameron, director Don Wehby and their legal counsel Luke Hamel-Smith. West Indies Players Association (WIPA) president and chief executive Wavell Hinds was also present.

"The meeting was cordial, positive and fruitful, and discussions will continue in an effort to find a way forward following the premature end of the tour of India," said a joint statement released by the WICB.

The West Indies players had earlier expressed their concern with the new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), stating that it resulted in drastic pay reduction and also wanted the board to adopt the old CBA.
