The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is hoping to have fruitful discussions with the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) over the abandoned tour.

A pay dispute had led the West Indies players to pull out from their Indian tour midway. One ODI, a T20I and three Tests were not played from the original schedule. An enraged BCCI had then shot off a bill worth $42.1 million in damages to the WICB.

A WICB statement said, "The premature end to the tour of India was extremely unfortunate. The WICB is committed to ensuring that such events do not recur.

"The WICB respects the decisions of the BCCI but continues to trust that discussions can result in a mutually agreeable resolution

The WICB will continue to use its best endeavours to meet with the BCCI to discuss all relevant matters pertaining to the premature end to the tour of India"

The statement also added that contrary to media reports, Richie Richardson still remained as the team manager.
