The HOKA ONE ONE Clifton 5 drops in June and with a revamped upper design paired with an identical tooling, the shoe delivers the same underfoot experience as the 4 with small changes to further dial in fit. While no huge changes have been made to the Clifton 5, we will see slightly more noticeable changes with the Clifton 5 Knit. Launching in September, this alternative to the standard Clifton 5 delivers the same midsole and outsole but features a soft and breathable knit upper to further enhance comfort and style.
To maintain the same ride as its predecessor, the shoe offers an identical midsole. Full length EVA delivers a soft yet springy sensation while an early stage Meta-Rocker design delivers an ultra smooth foot transition. While not quite as soft as the Clifton 3, the shoe continues to deliver a high level of cushioning that can handle any distance.
The outsole design of the Clifton 5 Knit also remains unchanged from version 4. A large amount of exposed EVA helps keep weight down and strategic placement of sticky rubber in the forefoot and heel offers reliable durability.
The main update to this shoe is found with a new knit upper that delivers the ideal balance of breathability, support, and comfort. The material creates a soft and seamless experience and a sock like comfort collar offers a secure heel fit.
