N Srinivasan, the BCCI president-in-exile, has been confirmed as the new Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The International Cricket Council (ICC) said it will review its testing and reporting procedures for suspect bowling actions and has suggested that bowlers suspected of illegal action will be monitored more closely, even if they have cleared the biomechanical testing procedure.

With the Supreme Court refusing to restrain N Srinivasan from taking over as the chairman of ICC, BCCI sent a final confirmation to the world body intimating that its president-in-exile will be the candidate to head the ICC.

Ehsan Mani, the former ICC president, feels strongly that the BCCI could have done little without the support of other big nations.

The BCCI had threatened to form a parallel world cricket body before the England and Australia boards agreed to the controversial restructuring of the ICC and decided to give a lion's share of its revenue to the India board, according to the BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel.
